Ledger and Trezor Unveil Next-Gen 2025 Wallets: Bigger Screens, Quantum-Ready Security, and Wireless Freedom

Major hardware crypto wallet providers Ledger and Trezor have launched their latest wallet models for 2025, offering enhanced options for users to securely manage their digital assets. Paris-based Ledger unveiled the Ledger Nano Gen5, marking a strategic shift by dropping the “hardware wallet” label and instead calling their products “Ledger signers.” This new device features a larger screen, Bluetooth connectivity, and integrates the Ledger Recovery Key introduced in June, all priced at $179 in the U.S. Ledger has also rebranded its app to Ledger Wallet and introduced Ledger Multisig to improve multisignature security.

Meanwhile, Prague’s Trezor released the Trezor Safe 7, its first quantum-ready hardware wallet, equipped with dual secure elements, wireless charging, and Bluetooth connectivity enabling compatibility with iPhones and other devices. Priced at 249 euros, the Safe 7 is designed to receive future post-quantum security updates, future-proofing against the eventual rise of quantum computing threats. Trezor emphasizes that all existing wallets remain fully supported and updated.

Both companies continue to evolve their self-custody technology to meet diverse user needs without rendering older devices obsolete, ensuring longevity and trust in their products.
